Dear Ali, Donal O’Dwyer here from Sydney. We had the true pleasure of chartering your beautiful gullet from Bodrum to Gocek for a week on the last week in September.
It was a family get together and it was for us all the trip of a lifetime.
Prior to arriving I have to say that the folks I worked through to book the gulet were very good and professional.
Then to start the trip, the time of year was perfect – beautiful temperature and, as it was nearing the end of the season, it was relatively quiet.
Secondly, the region we travelled in was truly magnificient – with the turquoise waters, the fabulous coastal scenery including so many secluded bays it was sheer perfection.
And now to the gullet and crew.- Esma Sultan is magnificient – it is spacious and beautifully built and laid out. Although we were a large family group it was just as easy to escape and be on your own or mix with the other family members as you wished – there were so many places on the boat to accommodate us. It was an absolute joy.
Finally, you had a magnificent crew – all of them. The Captain (Usay) was so great – he wanted to do all he could to ensure we had the holiday we wished for – he discussed the itinerary frequently and always was of the view that it was what we wanted that mattered. We had a small medical emergency – which thankfully proved to be a false alarm – but the Usay made sure he was with us at all times – waited at the medical centre with us until everything was solved and was invaluable with his knowledge and language at the hospital.
The chef was outstanding sh is a truly lovely person – again great variety and excellent quality of food. Everyone raved about the food!
The [erson that mainly took care of our day to day needs such as serving drinks etc was Tah Tah - he is such a good and nice young man - a great sense of fun - he was magnificent.
The other staff were always attentive and excellent – they were always there when needed but not intrusive at other times.
Ali, we had the holiday of a lifetime – enormously due to being on your beautiful gullet with an exceptional crew and great human beings.
